ITAC Development

CTEP is working on developing a wholistic form of professional development that considers Individual, Teacher, Activist and Community (ITAC) needs.

Individual – Support each other to develop our identities as social justice educators – through social activities, listening and consultation.

Teacher – Support each other as we develop our theory and practice of social justice education – sharing literature, reflecting on classroom practices and attending conferences & workshops. We are committed to sharing these resources and practices with the larger community.

Activist – Collaborate to organize for social justice, in and outside of school. Advocate for the equitable distribution of resources, liberating pedagogy, humane school environments, and community involvement.

Community – Collaborate to involve community members and community organizations in our teaching practices. Connect academic lessons to community based social justice campaigns. Open institutional space within TEP for community members and organizations to share about their social justice struggles.

The purpose of this website is serve as a clearing house for information and resource about critical pedagogy and community organizing.
